As you can imagine Junior Church will be different this Autumn!
Whilst we are looking to reopen our church buildings the space is very limited (30 people max I would imagine) so this won’t lend itself to to running our usual Junior Church programme. However, I am actively looking into what we can do and I have some ideas I’ll share with you soon.
I feel it is important that we keep some type of community and attachment to the church alive for our young people. Obviously, not an easy task to do at the moment, but I feel that through a mix of activities, online and in person when it’s safe to do so, we may be able to work towards this.
I’ll keep in touch with my thoughts and see what we can achieve, in the meantime please keep our Junior Church in your prayers. With every blessing, Revd Mike.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the pupils and staff of all schools and places of education as they restart for all pupils this week. Difficult times for all and we pray that it may be a positive experience for all concerned.
We pray for the young people from our church as they return to school and especially for those who are starting a new school or moving to a new school or college. May God’s love be with you all.

Once again, Roots on the Web have made their resources available to us for free.

We’ve Simplified Our Blogs – hurray!!

To simplify things moving forward, we have archived our other Blogs: Church at Home, News and Info and (soon) the Magazine and brought them altogether on to this Blog. This way you only need to look at one Blog for all the latest resources and info. You can use the menu bar at the top to look at all the posts for a particular category, including past posts.
You can also subscribe to this Blog to receive posts in realtime into your Inbox. Simples ?

The Magazine is still at it’s old home for now as it’s taken a bit longer for it to pack everything,
it will be on here very soon ? Until then you can say hello to it here.

Did you know that you can print posts on this Blog?
If you could like to print this Blog post for yourself or perhaps someone who can’t access the internet then you can! To do this simply click the green Print & PDF button at the top right of every post and follow the instructions. Don’t forget if you are sharing paper with someone do it safely and hygienically.

Reopening Our Churches Safely – a road map

Details of how to book will be on our website and Social Media from Monday 31 August. As space is very limited we wish to give priority to those who haven’t been able to access online worship. The Rector has sent a letter to those who fall into this category to give them a chance to book. If you do book, you may be asked to give up your space for the aforementioned category, this is voluntary and up to yourself.

In the meantime we will continue to open for Private Prayer. Here are the dates/times for this week. Face Coverings are mandatory by law in church buildings unless you have a valid medical exemption.

A bitesize Bible experience from the Ollerton Family

Through 15 minute sessions explore famous characters and events that form The Greatest Story Ever and discover how we can be part of it today. Simple to run. Fun. Free. No prior knowledge required. Who developed this resource?
The Ollertons have been making it during the Coronavirus lockdown. We’ve designed a session each evening and road-tested it with our three kids over breakfast (and revise… and repeat). Charlotte’s a qualified youth worker with oodles of creativity – see the paintings on the cards. Andrew is a more boring-theologian-type. He works with Bible Society and is author of The Bible Course a small group resource.

Many thanks to Howard Barker for sharing this great resource with us.

Faith at Home from the Church of England

This is a great resource for families to keep their children’s faith alive at this time.
Faith at Home is a national campaign that builds on the work of Growing Faith and Everyday Faith to support the faith development and pastoral care of children and young people.

The Bible Society

Bible Book Club

This is a fantastic free resource which we’ve used for some of the Midweek Get Togethers and is great for personal use to discover more about the books of the bible. Please take a look at the video and click here to find out more.
